Recruitment

At the beginning of every school year, Alpha Chi Omega participates in UMass Amherst’s Panhellenic Formal Recruitment.  As Alpha Chi Omega’s Vice President of Recruitment, I have the honor of welcoming all the potential new members during the formal recruitment process.  Recruitment can be an intimidating and stressful time, but I assure you it is totally worth it!

Going into my sophomore year at UMass, I desired something more.  I wanted to be more involved and I wanted to make more friends, but I did not know how.  Recruitment was my solution, and to this day has been the best decision I ever made while at UMass.  I remember the thrill and butterflies as I walked into the room every night during recruitment, and the feeling of not wanting to leave after falling in love with the girls and the sisterhood.  I remember the butterflies and excitement I felt picking up my bid card on the last day recruitment.  I remember running into the loving arms of my  “rush crush” on bid day, proving the whole experience was worth it.  I cherish every moment I am together with my sisters, and it excites me to think about more girls getting the experience I did.

Joining Alpha Chi Omega, I found my home and my people.  Here at Alpha Chi, I have made relationships and memories that would last longer than the few years I have here at UMass.  I have met the best people and accomplished things I never imagined during my college career.

Recruitment is the most wonderful time of year and Alpha Chi Omega looks forward to welcoming our new members following recruitment week!  The women of Alpha Chi Omega cannot wait to meet you, and we wish each of you the best of luck through your recruitment process!  See you in the fall!

Loyally,

Kelley Trieu

Vice President of Recruitment
