Sisterhood Events

Each semester our Vice President Membership Programming plans a number of different events that focus on sisterhood. Our chapter has now risen to over 100 girls and these events add for additional bonding across the board.

This past Fall we got to experience an extra special sisterhood event: an over-night retreat at Jellystone Park in Sturbridge, MA! The trip was filled with team building games, a campfire, s'mores, and tons of amazing memories. We all were broken up into small groups who were our cabin-mates for the night, so this retreat allowed us both to bond with sisters we were already close with and get to know sisters we may not have previously known well. With our chapter constantly growing rapidly in numbers, sisters really felt like they grew closer to all of Delta Mu as a whole after the retreat. The trip has been a chapter favorite ever since, and we hope that it will be a new annual tradition for years to come.

Each semester the events change, but we always walk away with memories to last a lifetime. No one knows what's in store semester to semester, but as a chapter we all look forward to what's to come.

Most of our sisterhood events occur during our Tuesday night meetings. Some events include workshops led by exec board members or other sisters in the chapter that focus on teaching or improving certain skills in a way that involves fun bonding activities. Other events that have happened in past include team building activities like our version of Minute to Win It, which provided many laughs that night.

Sisterhood events have also branched out to off campus excursions. During the Fall semester of 2015 we took seeking the heights to a whole new level with our trip to Ramblewild, a high-ropes adventure course in the Berkshires. There, among the trees, we were able to get to know eachother in a new environment under different pressures. We pushed not only ourselves, but eachother to new extremes to complete each course. That day we walked away with a million laughs, countless smiles  and a new appreciation for sisterhood and everything that comes along with it.
